Historic Fairfield Home

This beautiful kitchen was part of a show house project for the St. Paul's Rectory in Fairfield, CT. The home was built in 1834 and moved to it's current location by horse in 1865. We wanted the kitchen to look current, but like an integrated part of the home. We selected a beaded cabinet door to mimic the bead of the original ceiling in the entryway. The ceiling was built in quartersawn oak, which is what we selected for the island material. We painted the window mullions black to bring out the character of the home. We also mixed materials and finishes to make the kitchen beautiful and current- the gold light fixtures, champagne gold hardware, and stainless steel appliance all fit perfectly together in one space.
